Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey will launch they cycle on the 16th. He will be venturing out on his bike to support Aisling Group International's National Drug Awareness, drug/alcohol free driving & healthy lifestyle activities and of course support cycling.
He is not shy of a pedal and has been known to venture up the hill of Tara leaving some in his wake.
This is the sole event before the opening of the M3 Motorway on the 4th June so a great opportunity to try out the new motorway before narrow tyres are exchanged for bigger wheels.

Great response to the Aisling Group International charity M3 cycle. Looks like the Paul Healion 100km will have some well known cyclists taking part which makes for an exciting event and lots of those completing it for a challenge at their own pace. Glad so many are supporting this commemorative cycle.
Eamon Keane (nephew of the late John B. Keane) & presenter on 'Lunchtime' Newstalk is taking part to raise funds for the charity. Eamon is also well known as a singer/songwriter with a new album under his belt 'Hang The Moon'.
Watch out for some well known faces on their bikes... for fun. We mean watch them for fun. Some are a bit rusty on a bike and others don't know they are rusty.
Entries continue from across Ireland and some from the UK. Great to have visitors coming in to the area to join in the fun.
Our first tandem has registered with double power.
Families have been registering and this is what promoting cycling is all about. They will also get to cycle with some of the best known cyclists in Ireland.
The three distances 14km, 55km and 100km will start at 15 minute intervals. Please register early. There are lots of easy ways to do this as we have shown.
Everyone must be registered in order to facilitate having details out to each participant. prior to the event.
